On Friday, November 14th 2025 from 9:30 to 16:00 at the Hotel Odelya (Missionsstrasse 21 A, 4055 Basel) a new format will be held: the Career Day for Postdocs. The program will provide postdocs at the University of Basel the opportunity to explore a wide range of career options - both within and beyond academia - and to reflect on their own professional future. Additionally, the event will of course offer opportunities for networking and the exchange of ideas with peers.

10:00: Keynote lecture “The Power of Self-branding: Stand out in Academia and Beyond”
12:00-14:00: Lunch and Career Market: Representatives of companies and organizations as well as career-related units of the University of Basel will be present to offer insights into different professions and career opportunities
14:00-16:00: Career Talks: Former postdocs share their career journeys and experiences in exciting roles across academia, industry and the public sector

Career Funding for PhDs and Postdocs
Aims
This event will give an overview about career funding opportunities in the European and Swiss research funding programes for current and future PhD students and Post Docs. The overall aim of this two-hour session is to provide information about fellowships which allow you to enhance your scientific profile in Switzerland or abroad and to give first insights into the main opportunities for career funding at different stages of a researcher career by experts of the University of Basel (Nachwuchsförderung, EUresearch).
You are (or are organizing) a group of about six to twelve people and would like to know more about the services offered by the Career Advancement Office as well as topics such as funding instruments and academic careers.
