How do you turn data and AI into meaningful, responsible innovation that creates value and trust? Data Driven Innovation – From Ideas to Impact is a hands-on, three-part workshop series for students, researchers, university staff, startups, and practitioners who want to work towards concrete data-driven concepts.

Across three connected workshops, participants explore data-driven opportunities, business and ecosystem logic, and key questions around trust, ethics, and governance that are essential for real-world application. The series combines practical tools, applied cases, and peer exchange in a structured learning journey.

Participants may join with their own idea, research project, or startup case, or work with examples provided during the workshops. No prior technical background is required.

This workshop series is for anyone interested in data-driven products, services, business models, or ecosystems, who wants to turn a research idea or business opportunity into a clearer value proposition or data-driven concept, make better innovation decisions based on evidence, and address trust, privacy, and governance questions early rather than as a late-stage add-on.

Heute hat sich das geändert und Stoffe wie LSD oder Psilocybin werden wissenschaftlich untersucht. Doch wie war es eigentlich früher? Gab es Fälle in denen der Rauschzustand zur Therapie von Erkrankungen verwendet wurde? Diese und andere Fragen sind Teil der Führung. Dyspraxia (or Developmental Coordination Disorder) affects around 1 in 20 people yet often goes unrecognized. Far beyond the outdated label of “clumsy,” it influences how individuals move, write, balance, and interact with the world. Many have gone undiagnosed due to past misunderstandings, but growing research is changing that narrative. Join Dr. Emily Meachon as she challenges long-held myths and shares practical insights on how we can better support those affected across our university community.

After an input of 30 minutes, we have time for a Q&A session. At the end of the program, we warmly invite you to stay for an apéro (sponsored by avuba)!

The Bernoulli Network for the Behavioral Sciences of the Faculty of Business and Economics and the Faculty of Psychology cordially invite you to the 14th Bernoulli Lecture for the Behavioral Sciences, presented by Professor Dr. Ralph Hertwig.

Aristotle claimed that humans “by nature desire to know.” Hobbes called curiosity “the lust of the mind,” and Maslow described our urge to know as an instinct-like “burning curiosity.” Yet we often choose not to know. We often decline potentially painful medical information. Günter Grass did not want to read his Stasi file. Paul Feyerabend cautioned against trying to know everything about those close to us. Deliberate ignorance is far from rare — especially in consequential decisions.

This talk will ask: When is not knowing reasonable, and when is it reckless? Can individuals or societies ever have a moral obligation to remain ignorant? Who is homo ignorans — what distinguishes seekers from non-seekers of information? Which psychological mechanisms lead us to avert our gaze, and how can these processes be modeled? How prevalent is deliberate ignorance in times of societal transformation, and how does it evolve from childhood through old age?

Decisions under uncertainty

Professor Dr. Ralph Hertwig is Director of the Center for Adaptive Rationality at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin, where his work focuses on how people make decisions under uncertainty and how simple cognitive strategies can lead to effective outcomes. Hertwig’s research bridges psychology, behavioral economics, and public policy, with the aim of improving decision environments in areas such as health, risk communication, and societal policy.

Mit der KI-Bildgenerierung aber, die Fotografien als Trainingsdaten nutzt und als KI-gestützte Bildoptimierung in den fotografischen Prozess eingebettet ist, scheinen sich diese etablierten Konzepte und Theorien aufzulösen. Am 15. April 2026 bietet die 3R-Messe in Fribourg eine einzigartige Austauschplattform zwischen Forschung und Praxis mit Demos, Videos und Präsentationen des NFP 79 «Advancing 3R – Tiere, Forschung und Gesellschaft».

Seit vier Jahren forschen die 27 Projektteams des Nationalen Forschungsprogramms «Advancing 3R – Tiere, Forschung und Gesellschaft» (NFP 79) in den Bereichen Innovation, Ethik & Gesellschaft sowie zur praktischen Umsetzung des 3R-Prinzips (Replace, Reduce, Refine). Am 15. April 2026 veranstaltet das NFP 79 eine 3R-Messe, um Forschende und Akteur:innen aus Verwaltung, Industrie, Akademie, NGOs und Politik zum Austausch zusammenzubringen.

Austausch und praxisnahe Einblicke

An der 3R-Messe präsentieren die Forschungsteams ihre Projekte und Ergebnisse in Form von Demos, verständlichen Zusammenfassungen, Videos, Präsentationen und praxisnahen Lösungen. Der direkte Austausch mit den Forschenden ermöglicht Diskussionen zu konkreten Umsetzungsmöglichkeiten und eine gemeinsame Reflexion der nächsten Schritte zur Stärkung der 3R in der Schweiz. Geplant sind zudem spezifische Führungen für Fachpersonen.

Die 3R-Messe bietet eine einzigartige Gelegenheit, sich aus erster Hand über den aktuellen Stand der Projekte, wesentliche Resultate und daraus abgeleitete Empfehlungen zu informieren. Als Treffpunkt der 3R-Community schafft sie Raum für Vernetzung, Inspiration und fachlichen Austausch.

Erleben Sie die Fortschritte der Forschungsprojekte des NFP 79 im Forum Fribourg. Seien Sie dabei und gestalten Sie die Zukunft der 3R mit!

La SEF, l’Alliance française et la Fondation Beyeler sont partenaires de la conférence « Zola / Cézanne : un dialogue de sourds ? » de Stéphane Guégan et Robert Kopp. Les membres qui ne viendront qu’à la conférence, sans visiter le musée, auront un accès libre à partir de 18h15. Ils devront annoncer à la caisse du musée qu’ils sont membres de la SEF.
