In its Strategy 2014, the University of Basel has selected five thematic focal areas for securing the university’s position among the international competition.
The Strategy 2014 aims to strengthen the position of the University of Basel as a prominent, regionally anchored but at the same time internationally oriented comprehensive university. The main priority is the successful positioning of the University of Basel as an academic institution that is closely intertwined with society, culture and business.
The two performance periods (2014 – 2017 and 2018 – 2021) of the strategy define five areas of knowledge as the thematic focus:
- Life Sciences
- Image Studies
- Sustainability and Energy Research
- European and Global Studies
