Finance Support Office
The Finance Support Office (Stab Finanzen) is the central staff unit supporting the Director of Finance and contributes to both strategic and operational matters within the Finance Directorate. Among its tasks are the preparation of reports, analyses, and presentations to support decision-making by the Finance Directorate and the President’s Office. The unit also coordinates timelines for the annual financial statement and budget, manages project-related responsibilities, and responds to specific inquiries on behalf of the Director. Coordination of key deadlines for yearend closing and the budget process also falls within its scope.
A key focus is on committee work. Acting as the key link between the Finance Directorate and committees, the team provides subject-related and organisational support to the Financial Assets Committee, the Financial Security Committee, and the Finance, Audit, and Risk Committee.
In the area of risk management, Services Finances coordinates the risk management system and develops methods for risk analysis, control, and management. The team continuously maintains and improves the internal control system (ICS) and oversees its review by external auditors to ensure compliance with internal control standards.
Other tasks include managing the financial aspects of appointments and coordinating budget transfers. The team also approves SAP authorisation requests to ensure secure use of the SAP systems.
