Research Compliance Office
The Research Compliance Office supports researchers in complying with legal, ethical, and institutional regulations. It is responsible for three areas: animal welfare & 3Rs, scientific integrity, and knowledge security.
When planning, conducting, and publishing research, a variety of legal, ethical, and institutional regulations must be observed. Following and upholding these regulations ensures scientific integrity, safety, and conformity with legal standards, thereby protecting both researchers and the university as an institution.
The Research Compliance Office brings together the areas of Animal Welfare & the 3Rs, Research Integrity, and Knowledge Security, integrating expertise in these three fields. It serves as a central point of contact for all internal and external inquiries and for networking with other universities. Its core mission is to create a secure framework for research projects, researchers, and the university while ensuring the greatest possible freedom in research, teaching, and international cooperation.
The responsibilities of the Research Compliance Office include supporting researchers in complying with legal and internal regulations, assisting them assess risks, and identifying potential obstacles to the implementation of research projects at an early stage. In addition, the Research Compliance Office serves as a knowledge base, providing researchers with access to relevant information, and contributes to raising awareness of research compliance issues by offering relevant training courses.
