Committees

As a standing specialist committee of the Senate, the Teaching Committee advises on matters relating to teaching and studies and strengthens faculty involvement in university-wide decisions in the area of undergraduate teaching. It promotes integrated and coordinated implementation processes for teaching-related topics across all faculties, facilitates the mutual exchange of best practices between faculties, develops standards for teaching and studies for all faculties, and ensures the flow of information from the President’s Office and from Swiss or European bodies to the faculties, and vice versa.
 

The Doctoral Committee supports the development of major strategic priority areas in doctoral and postdoctoral funding, designs the further development of the graduate level, and reviews applications for the establishment or continuation of doctoral programs, as well as concepts and applications for the creation of overarching graduate schools.
 

The Continuing Education Committee advises on matters relating to university continuing education. In this capacity, it strengthens faculty involvement in university-wide decisions in the area of continuing education. It promotes the development of continuing education programs within the framework of the University’s strategy, facilitates the mutual exchange of best practices, develops standards for all faculties, monitors quality assurance, and ensures the flow of information from the President’s Office and from Swiss or European bodies to the faculties, and vice versa.
