Doctoral Studies

The University of Basel established a process for the employment and supervision of doctoral candidates. A doctoral agreement must be concluded between the doctoral student and the first supervisor within the first six months of the doctorate. It serves as a progress summary, to plan the doctoral project and to document supervisory meetings. Some faculties have made adjustments to the doctoral agreement, the template can be downloaded from their website.
