Why a Day Against Sexual Harassment in Higher Education?

The answer is simple: Knowledge builds confidence!

To effectively counteract sexual harassment, we need heightened awareness and knowledge of available options for action. Since 2023, Swiss universities and research institutes have been jointly raising awareness of the issue through a manifold program—thus complementing their year-round support and prevention measures to protect all aspects of personal integrity.

the Personal Integrity Office is offering its own course program in the run-up to the event, is participating in a panel discussion on structural prevention measures, and is hosting the digital discussion program on April 21.

To mark the launch of SHAD in 2023, key figures from the Swiss higher education sector—who address the issue of sexual and sexist harassment in their daily teaching and research—have shared their perspectives.
