Future Day
On the National Future Day, students in grades 5 through 7 gain insights into research, teaching, and various career fields at the University of Basel.
The goal is to explore interests and abilities independent of gender stereotypes and to encourage a broader range of career choices.
Future Day At The University of Basel
The next Future Day will take place on Thursday, November 12, 2026. Faculties, departments, and institutes of the University of Basel offer children of university staff the opportunity to participate in the basic program: students accompany their parent or guardian for a day at work or during their studies.
No central registration is required; only an internal arrangement with supervisors or lecturers is necessary.
In addition, there are special programs for children of university staff as well as external participants. These provide more in-depth insights into selected subject areas; space is limited and registration is required.

Registration process: Register as a user on the “Eventfrog” platform and book a ticket for the desired special program.
Data protection: Use of the platform is subject to Eventfrog’s data protection policies; participation in the programs is subject to the specific Future Day program regulations.

Requirements for Participation
Participation requirements vary by canton. Participation must be coordinated with the school, and in some cases a formal request for exemption must be submitted.
