Pilot project provision menstruation products

Menstruation is an topic that often remains hidden, despite being a fundamental matter that affects the quality of life of more than half of our university community. To acknowledge this reality and contribute to gender equality, the University of Basel is piloting the provision of menstrual products.
In line with the standards in the Swiss university context, the University of Basel is sending out a clear signal. By providing menstrual products, we not only want to avoid stressful and unpleasant situations, but also contribute to removing taboos from the subject.
Dispensers containing tampons and pads will be installed at selected and central university locations. This is to ensure that all members of the university have access to the products when they need them.
The aim of the pilot project is to provide a low-threshold supply of menstrual products that are quickly available when needed.
