Organizational Culture

The Organizational Culture Department is a central unit of the University of Basel and part of the Vice President’s Office People & Culture. On behalf of the University Executive Board, it helps to foster a respectful, open, and learning-oriented organizational culture and creates appropriate frameworks for guidance and action. In doing so, it supports conditions that promote the University’s core mission in research and teaching.

Using a systemic, participatory, and impact-oriented approach, the department supports leaders, staff, and organizational units through practical formats and tools, strengthens competencies for effective leadership and collaboration, and promotes exchange and organizational learning. This includes offerings in the areas of Leadership & Development as well as Diversity & Inclusion.

The goal is to strategically embed culturally relevant topics and support faculties, departments, and organizational units with their respective concerns and needs. In doing so, the department works closely with Human Resources and other partner units within the university.
