Vice President Nicole Schaeren-Wiemers resigns
At the end of August, Professor Nicole Schaeren-Wiemers will step down from her role as Vice President for People & Culture and resume her research work in the Department of Biomedicine.

Nicole Schaeren-Wiemers was elected Vice President for People & Culture in April 2021 and took up this new position on 1 August 2021. After a major medical procedure at the end of February 2022 and many months of rehabilitation, she unfortunately has had to accept that she is no longer able to fulfill the role of Vice President and would therefore prefer to step down and return to research.
The President’s Board very much regrets her departure from this important management position, but understands that her health must remain the top priority. Nicole Schaeren-Wiemers regrets that she is no longer able to fulfill the role of Vice President and wishes the President’s Board all the best for the future.
