Vortrag von Prof. Dr. Andreas Urs Sommer (Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg) mit Lesung von Philipp Langenegger (Schauspieler) im Rahmen der Vortragsreihe «Akademische Freundschaften» des Frey-Grynaeischen Instituts in Basel.
Die Abende sind akademisch fundiert und wollen eine breite, interessierte Öffentlichkeit ansprechen. Zentrales Element der Veranstaltungen sind Lesungen zwischen den anderen Wortbeiträgen.

Das Frey-Grynaeische Institut:
1747 gründet der Basler Theologieprofessor Johann Ludwig Frey (1682 –1759) zur Erinnerung an seinen Freund und Kollegen Johannes Grynaeus (1705 –1744) eine Stiftung: das Frey-Grynaeische Institut. Bis heute pflegt das Frey-Grynaeische Institut, als älteste eingetragene Stiftung der Stadt Basel, am Heuberg 33 dieses Erbe und entwickelt es weiter. Kernbestand ist die Bibliothek mit etwa 13 000 Büchern, von den
Anfängen der Buchdruckkunst bis ins 19. Jahrhundert. Die wertvollsten Werke werden in der Universitätsbibliothek Basel aufbewahrt (Signaturen «Frey-Gryn xxx»). In der Bibliothek wird gearbeitet und geforscht. Auf Anmeldung kann diese besucht und auch besichtigt werden.
Das Frey-Grynaeische Institut steht in der Tradition einer Gelehrtenfreundschaft und versteht sich als Zentrum für die Vielfalt öffentlicher Theologie, den ethischen Austausch und die Pflege der Alten Sprachen. Die Stiftung fördert dies u. a. mit Publikationen, Gesprächen, Vorträgen und Symposien.

Themenabend im Rahmen der Ausstellung «Die ganze Welt in einem Herbarium» mit Dr. Claudia Engler (Burgerbibliothek Bern)
Das Sammeln steht am Anfang der modernen Naturgeschichte. Es ist nicht ein blosses Einsammeln, sondern ein Versammeln mit dem Ziel, die gesammelten Objekte zu dokumentieren und zu vergleichen. Nicht zufällig entstanden die ersten systematischen Sammlungen von getrockneten Pflanzen im universitären Umfeld, wo sie wie beim Basler Stadtarzt und Professor für Medizin Felix Platter der Lehre und Forschung dienten. Herbarien waren ebenso begehrte Objekte in Kunst- und Wunderkammern. Bis ins 18. Jahrhunderte wurden Herbarien meist in Buchform angelegt. Das systematische Sammeln und Bewahren von Wissen ist auch die Aufgabe von Bibliotheken, weshalb ein Herbarium in der Bibliothek durchaus seinen Platz hat.
Claudia Engler erzählt die Geschichte des Herbars, auf welchen Umwegen es nach Bern kam und welche Herausforderungen mit der Konservierung und Erschliessung des Werks verbunden waren. Und vor allem aber zeigt sie Beispiele der aussergewöhnlich gut erhaltenen und geradezu kunstvoll arrangierten Pflanzen und Illustrationen des mehr als 400 Jahre alten Pflanzenschatzes.

Vortrag von Prof. Dr. Jennifer Wasmuth, Professorin für Ökumenische Theologie unter besonderer Berücksichtigung des Orthodoxen Christentums und seiner globalen Wirkung in Geschichte und Gegenwart an der Universität Göttingen
Zur Ringvorlesung:
Der Begriff des «Opfers» ist in der Gegenwart omnipräsent: Wir lesen von Opfern von Krieg, Gewalttaten, Umweltkatastrophen oder Mobbing; Menschen wird ein Opferstatus zu- oder aberkannt, sie können als Opfer Ansprüche geltend machen, sich als Opfer inszenieren, sich aber auch von dieser Zuschreibung vehement distanzieren. Das Opfer im kultischen Kontext hingegen ist für westliche Gesellschaften zum Randphänomen geworden. Ebenso fremd ist uns die Deutung des Todes Jesu als Opfer. Diese wird auch innerhalb der christlichen Tradition heutzutage weithin abgelehnt.
In dieser interdisziplinären Ringvorlesung werden wir uns zunächst mit antiken Opferpraktiken und -theologien beschäftigen, dann aber auch einen grösseren Bogen schlagen über Märtyrertheologie und Deutungen des Todes Jesu als Opfer. Dozierende der Universität Basel und internationale Expert:innen werden die Rede von menschlichen Opfern beleuchten, über die Jahrhunderte bis in die Gegenwart des russischen Angriffskrieges. Im gemeinsamen Gespräch erkunden wir, wie sich die Bedeutung des Opfers im Laufe der Zeit gewandelt hat, wie es sich in der Gegenwart theologisch vom Opfer sprechen lässt, und inwiefern kultisch-theologische Aspekte in heutigen Verwendungen des Opferbegriffs noch mitschwingen.

Showcase implementation science projects in health care and health care related sciences conducted by Swiss researchers and institutions especially;
Provide networking opportunities for implementation science researchers and other interested stakeholders in Switzerland;
Provide training opportunities for implementation science; and
Leverage funding options for implementation science in Switzerland.
Implementation science is the scientific study of methods to promote the integration of research findings and evidence-based interventions into healthcare policy and practice. It seeks to understand the behavior of healthcare professionals and support staff, healthcare organizations, healthcare consumers, and policymakers in context as key variables in the sustainable uptake, adoption, and implementation of evidence-based interventions.

Die achte Basler Sozialversicherungsrechtstagung setzt auf Bewährtes und wagt Neues. Es werden «Stammgäste» auftreten und auch Personen, die noch nie oder erst einmal an dieser Tagung aufgetreten sind. Zum ersten Mal wird auch ein krankenversicherungsrechtliches Thema behandelt. In inhaltlicher Hinsicht geht es primär um den Gesundheitsschaden, der im Sozialversicherungsrecht als «Beeinträchtigung der körperlichen, geistigen und psychischen Gesundheit» verstanden wird.
