“I am truly honored by this recognition. It means a great deal to me to see how a field that we began exploring more than two decades ago has been embraced by such a vibrant international community. Above all, I view this award as a recognition of the curiosity and creativity of the many talented young scientists I have had the privilege to work with over the years,” says Thomas Ward.

Established in 1984, the Arthur C. Cope Scholar Awards recognize outstanding achievements in organic chemistry and rank among the most prestigious distinctions conferred by the American Chemical Society. Among more than 400 recipients since the award’s inception, only six scientists based in Switzerland have received this distinction.
