Admission with the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB)

The International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) grants access to all bachelor’s degree programs, providing a minimum of 32 out of 42 points is obtained (without bonus points / combined grade) in six subjects according to the following categories. One of the subjects in IB group 4 or 5 must have been taken at Higher Level. Degree programs with admissions restrictions remain subject to special requirements.

Language skills

According to section 14 of the student regulations dated 13 November 2019 the two principal languages of instruction at the University of Basel are German and English. The corresponding language skills are prerequisites for the successful completion of a degree program.
