Botond Roska, Professor at the University of Basel and Director at the Institute of Molecular and Clinical Ophthalmology Basel (IOB), has been awarded with a Sanford and Susan Greenberg Visionary Prize to End Blindness.

He receives the medal for his groundbreaking work on the elucidation of the structure and function of proteins.
The Swiss Foundation for Tuberculosis Research confers the Swiss TB Award 2016 to Swiss TPH researcher Mireia Coscolla for her new insights on the antigenic variation of tuberculosis bacteria. The value of the prize is 10,000 Swiss Francs.
