The introduction of the new Vice President's Office for People & Culture in 2021 represents a renewed focus on even more support for a strong university community. The Leadership & Development Office’s role in this endeavor is to further develop the culture of the organization and its employees toward more future-oriented and sustainable cooperation.

The Leadership & Development Office emerged in 2022 from the Staff and Organizational Development Office. The new office is more intensively involved in the strategic development of a culture of respectful communication, the individual development of all employees, and the creation of a culture of responsible leadership. To this end, the office continues to offer courses for professional education, coaching and process support in teams.

The new office will be invested in the cultural development of the university and in reflecting on its actions and values. The critical roles of leaders will be a particular focus. In this context, we will use the next few years to implement new ways of working and to create programs for the individual development of various stakeholders.

The Leadership & Development Office was formed last year for the systematic development of the course program and in order to connect its content with the other offices under the Vice President’s Office for Culture, Diversity & Leadership Development. They will jointly address the cultural themes of personal integrity, respectful collaboration, communication in dialog and inclusion.

The course program for individuals in leadership positions was a major focus of their work, and it now contains questions for self-reflection and agile methods. The existing courses were adapted to current university leadership principles and the needs of a learning organization. Along similar lines, the INSIDE program for professors in collaboration with the General Secretariat has operated annually since 2021 and continues to be expanded.
