A new Website and Corporate Design for the University of Basel
Just in time for the spring semester, the University of Basel has updated and redesigned its website and created new guidelines for its image and appearance.
A modern design, clear structure and comprehensive information in German and English – the new University of Basel website is designed to give site visitors a user-friendly online experience.
Content has also been updated and the navigation restructured. Specific landing pages for different user groups quickly help visitors find the information they are looking for, and the webpages of the university's five focal areas provide additional access to areas of teaching and research. In addition, the information available in English has been expanded greatly to offer a website that is for the most part available in two languages now.
A website for all devices
Thanks to its responsive design, the content and navigation of the site adapt automatically to tablets and smartphones. The technical foundation is the Magnolia Content Management System (CMS), which supports the simple and intuitive editing of content.
Uniform appearance across all media
The new website is also the embodiment of the streamlined corporate design. It is the first time the University of Basel has set rigorous guidelines for its appearance across all media and formats. The defining element of the new corporate design is the color mint. This color branding promotes a high level of recognition.
The uniform appearance increases the University of Basel's visibility and promotes its successful position among international competitors. In order to achieve this, the logo is now available in a reworked German and English version.

The relaunch is just the first step – the site will be developed and the content updated on an ongoing basis.
