Featuring A Night We Held Between (2024, Noor Abed), letter to a friend (2019, Emily Jacir), Electrical Gaza (2015, Rosalind Nashashibi), and There Was Nothing Here Before (2024, Yvann Yagchi), the screenings at eikones this fall will be followed by discussions with the filmmakers, foregrounding cinema as a space of memory, resistance, and reimagining.

There has been quite some debate recently over the question whether psychotherapy is an essential part in psychedelic-assisted therapies or if it might as well be skipped. In this talk, I will present what Swiss patients have to say about this matter. Our research group interviewed 17 participants who had undergone BAG-approved PAT-treatment. The diversity of indication, substance and therapy settings not only reflect “real life” experiences, it also provides unique insights into how patients perceived their treatment and which elements they found effective.

Prof. Dr. Sebastian Wicha's Clinical Pharmacy research group aims to promote the rational use of drugs. Specifically, they focus their research on dose optimisation in several therapeutic areas.

They use in vitro models, bioanalysis, and pharmacometric approaches to quantify interactions between drugs, patients, and other drug targets, such as bacteria. This makes the topic interesting not only for pharmacists, but also for physicians, biologists and epidemiologists. During his talk, Prof. Dr. Sebastian Wicha will provide insight into the group's current research.

The event is open to the public and free of charge.

This is an event organized as part of the "Invite Your Expert: Graduate School of Medical and Health Sciences at the University of Basel" program. Organized by: Angela Hellingman, Ph.D. candidate in the Parasite Chemotherapy Unit at the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) and the University of Basel.

Anlässlich des internationalen Tages gegen Gewalt an Frauen organisiert das Departement Gesellschaftswissenschaften eine weitere Podiumsveranstaltung zum Thema sexuelle Belästigung an Universitäten. 

Es sind Vertreter*innen der Universität Basel sowie Expert*innen und Forscher*innen anderer Hochschulen eingeladen, um in einen wissensbasierten Austausch über Handlungsmöglichkeiten und Handlungsnotwendigkeiten für Hochschulen ohne sexualisierte Belästigung und Gewalt zu treten.

Eine Veranstaltung des Departements Gesellschaftswissenschaften der Universität Basel.

Tumore weisen eine enorme molekulare Vielfältigkeit auf. Wie gelingt es ihnen, sich so dynamisch an ihre Umgebung anzupassen? Die DNA-Sequenzierung einzelner Krebszellen ermöglicht die Rekonstruktion der Entstehungsgeschichte jedes Tumors. Anhand dieser molekularen Landkarten werden in der personalisierten Krebstherapie individuelle Behandlungen entwickelt. Bei einer Führung durch das Sequenzierlabor am ETH-Departement Biosysteme erhalten Sie einen Einblick in moderne Verfahren der Biotechnologie und der Datenwissenschaften.
