Bachelor’s Studies in Sport, Exercise and Health with Swiss Educational Qualifications
Before you begin the online application, please note the following:
- Degree programs
Bachelor’s studies in sport, exercise and health consists of the degree program sport, exercise and health: prevention and health promotion, or is divided into the subject of sport, exercise and health: sports science along with one extra-faculty subject. - Admission requirements
With a Swiss Matura certificate or a federally recognized cantonal Gymnasium Matura certificate, you are eligible for admission to all bachelor’s degree programs at the University of Basel.
If you are unsure whether your prior education qualifications make you eligible for the desired bachelor’s program at the University of Basel, please refer to the admission regulations of the University of Basel.
- Restriction of admission / entrance examination
The number of admissions for new students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in sport, exercise and health is limited to 100 for the 2017/18 academic year. If it becomes necessary to limit the number of admissions based on the number of applications received by 15 February 2017, the athletic entrance examination will be held on 6 and 7 July 2017. No reexamination will be given. We will inform you promptly concerning how to proceed.

The entrance examination is also mandatory when transferring from another university.
- Application process
After completing the online application, you will be prompted to print out the application for admission to bachelor studies. A PDF of this form will also be sent to your email address.
Important: Your application is only valid once it has been signed and submitted by the required deadline (date of the postmark) along with the required documents. Applications received after February 15 will not be accepted. For details on the required documents, refer to the checklist that is included when you print out the application for admission. Please submit your application even if you have not yet taken your school-leaving or university degree examinations by the application deadline or if you are not yet in possession of all necessary supporting documents.
After receiving your application, you will receive a confirmation of receipt by email and by conventional mail along with a deposit slip for your CHF 100 application fee. Your application can only be fully processed once this application fee has been paid and all of the required documents have been received.

Applications for the fall semester 2018 are possible from 15 December 2017 (application deadline: 15 February 2018).
