For 30 years, people have been making music together at the University of Basel. The choir and orchestra bring together people who share a love of music and dedicate themselves to new works every semester. We would like to celebrate this anniversary with you.
The program features Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s “Wie der Hirsch schreit,” a work about longing and the search for inner peace; Edward Elgar’s “The Music Makers,” a work exploring the power of art and how ideas can change the world; and Hector Berlioz’s “Te Deum,” a monumental work of overwhelming sonic dimensions and solemnity – and thus a fitting finale to this special occasion.
Enjoy the outstanding soloists Jardena Flückiger (soprano), Sophie Kidwell (mezzo-soprano), and Nattha Thammathi (tenor), under the musical direction of Olga Pavlu.
