At the University of Basel, diverse career paths are to be incorporated into studies, teaching, research, administration and management. Therefore, individual support programs are created and measures are implemented on an institutional level.

At the University of Basel, the perspective of inclusive and life-phase-related personnel management is to be strengthened in particular. Diverse career paths are to be incorporated into studies, teaching, research, and administration.

With get on track and stay on track, two relief options are offered for doctoral students with family obligations as well as postdocs in the phase of early motherhood. Various relief options serve to retain more diverse profiles in research and promote the continuation of academic careers.

In the area of mentoring, training and coaching, the career programs antelope and ZOOM@Novartis are available.

    The «get on track» funding line is aimed at mothers and fathers who are pursuing a doctorate. With the aim of enabling the completion of the doctorate in the specified time, relief options are regularly advertised.

    In this career program, highly qualified female postdoctoral fellows and excellent advanced female doctoral students from all faculties are supported in the systematic planning and development of their academic careers and prepared for future leadership and management tasks.

    ZOOM@Novartis

    This mentoring program is run in cooperation with Novartis. It is aimed at highly qualified female PhD students and postdocs. The program offers a special opportunity to intensively explore career opportunities in private industry and academia while gaining insight into a global company.
