Switzerland is currently considered a non-associated third country for the submission of proposals in Horizon Europe. With this status, researchers in Switzerland can still participate in most collaborative projects. The Swiss project partner will be funded by SERI (State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation) during the whole lifetime of the project. Participation in mono-beneficiary instruments (individual ERC grants, MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships, MSCA COFUND and EIC Accelerator) is by principle excluded as a non-associated third country. SERI has mandated the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) to implement suitable transition solutions: Horizon Europe Transitional Measures. The Federal Council remains committed to its goal of a full association to Horizon Europe.
For further information on the situation, please visit the Horizon Europe website of the SERI.
Sould you have further questions please contact the Grants Office: firstname.lastname@example.org, 061 207 60 53
Information about the funding opportunities within Horizon Europe can be found under Research Grants and Individual Grants (ERC, MSCA).
Further important information for Horizon Europe applicants with the University of Basel or University Hospitals can be found under Services.
The SERI report "Swiss Participation in European Research Framework Programmes" presents the latest facts and figures regarding Swiss participation in the European Research and Innovation Framework Programmes.
On CORDIS, the EU's database for research projects, you find an overview of the projects with the participation of the University of Basel in the former European Research and Innovation Framework Programme "Horizon 2020".
Due to the current status of a non-associated third country of Switzerland, researchers in Switzerland are not eligible to coordiante collaborative projects.
Experts are needed to evaluate proposals for EU funding and for other activities such as monitoring, programme evaluation and policy development.
Interested candidates are invited to file their application online as soon as possible in preparation for the first project proposal evaluations, which will start in 2014.
