Nationale individuelle Grants
SNSF Eccellenza Professorial Fellowships are aimed at highly qualified young researchers who aspire to a permanent professorship.
Ambizione grants are aimed at young researchers from Switzerland and abroad who wish to conduct, manage and lead an independent project at a Swiss higher education institution.
European Individual Grants
The Excellent Science pillar of Horizon Europe includes two main career funding programmes:
Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA-PF) provide researchers with excellent training and career development opportunities. We kindly ask applicants to contact the the Grants Office for further support and information.
European Research Council (ERC) supports ground-breaking, innovative projects from excellent researchers. More than 50 researchers from the University of Basel have received one of these prestigious and highly competitive Grants. Read the article on the ERC project FLIRT of Prof. Gianluca Crippa on the EU project database CORDIS.
Transitional Measures for ERC and MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships
Note that researchers in Switzerland are currently not eligible for applying for ERC individual grants and MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships. The Swiss National Science Foundation SNSF was mandated to implement suitable transitional measures.
