Joint Programs

Excellent academic work is the result of exchange and cooperation with partners of similar ambitions. Based on its longstanding expertise and research profile, the University of Basel has been developing joint programs with first-rate partners in Switzerland and worldwide.

Swiss South African Joint Research Programme (SSAJRP)

Opening its first four-year funding period in 2008, the mutually financed Swiss - South African Joint Research Programme (SSAJRP) has been enabling knowledge creation, academic dissemination, transfer of knowledge to society, and innovation in industry and politics in both Switzerland and South Africa.

Swiss - African Research Cooperation (SARECO)

Mandated by the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) to enlarge and further encourage research partnerships with Africa the University of Basel together with the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) have opened a call for kick-starting activities for Higher Education and Research Institutions in Switzerland and selected partner countries in Africa.


Global Perspectives Program (GPP)

The Global Perspectives Program (GPP) is run in partnership by he University of Basel and Virginia Tech and informs about Global Higher Education and Research, its changing roles and challenges. The input seminars in March and April form part of the Transferable Skills courses offered to doctoral students.
