THINK FURTHER.... sustainability - scene of investigation
From 24th April 2017 until 5th May 2017 the Sustainability Weeks will take place at the University of Basel
For a two-week period, the University of Basel will be turned into a scene of investigation. During this time, many exciting questions about sustainability will be investigated: what has sustainability got to do with religion? How much paper does the university use in one day? How much plastic is floating in the Rhine?
To answer these questions, researchers, staff members and students will demonstrate the diversity of the issue of sustainability at the University of Basel. Over “Brown Bag Talks”, scientists at the University of Basel will report on their research results. Speaking of lunch, each day the canteen will have a special menu and campaign focussing on ecological footprint and food waste. In the Kollegienhaus a two-week exhibition will provide exciting insights into student initiatives as well as teaching and research projects. Film evenings, panel discussions, a clothes exchange platform, visualisations of the consumption of resources at the university and much more round off the diverse programme on offer.
Members of the university and the public alike will be able to discover the diversity of the issue of sustainability for themselves over the course of these two weeks. The activities on offer will be centred around the Kollegienhaus.
