On 16th December 2016 the Federal Council of Switzerland ratified the protocol extending the free movement of persons to Croatia. This means that as of 1st January 2017 Switzerland is fully associated to Horizon 2020 and therefore researchers based in Switzerland can submit proposals to all Horizon 2020 calls as an Associated Country participant.
Further information about the funding opportunities within Horizon 2020 can be found under Collaborative Projects and Research Careers (ERC, MSCA) above.

The State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation SERI offers co-ordinators of Horizon 2020 projects, a fixed sum of 8000CHF to cover proposal preparation costs, for all projects that reach the EU evaluation thresholds. The relevant documents can be found here (German only).
Co-ordinators from the University of Basel can also apply to the Research Fund for proposal preparation support.
Switzerland and the EU have agreed on a partial association, which came into effect on 15 September 2014 and lasted until the end of 2016.
For Horizon 2020 projects under Pillar 2 & 3 of Horizon 2020, Switzerland remained an "industrialized third country" entity. Swiss partners are funded by the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research & Innovation (SERI) for the entire duration of their projects.
Experts are needed to evaluate proposals for EU funding and for other activities such as monitoring, programme evaluation and policy development.
Interested candidates are invited to file their application online as soon as possible in preparation for the first project proposal evaluations, which will start in 2014.
