The Swiss Federal Council has decided to return to the "normal situation" as of April 1, 2022. All measures imposed by the Federal Council were cancelled on that date, including the obligation to be isolated in the case of illness. The university management has discussed this new situation with the experts at the University Hospital Basel. They advise us to adopt the recommendations of the FOPH as of April 1.

For employees of the University of Basel, the regulation continues to apply that in the case of illness they do not have to provide a medical certificate until the 6th day. In consultation with the Deans of Studies, the President's Board has decided that this will be handled in the same way for students. This is particularly important for those courses where attendance is compulsory and sick students would risk not receiving credit points if they were absent.
