Welcome Day for new staff members
Once a year, the University of Basel invites new staff members to a welcome event. All new employees from all faculties, departments and organizational units are invited. The event will be held in German and English.
On Welcome Day, new staff members are welcomed personally by the President, the Vice President and the Executive Director. They gain greater insight into the history, organization and structure of the University of Basel, as well as being introduced to its strategy and values. After the official part, an info fair allows participants to familiarize themselves with the university’s services – from sports to the language center, Student Services to career advancement and academic teaching – and to ask any specific questions. To conclude the event, colleagues can get to know each other at the standing lunch.
A personal invitation to the Welcome Day will be sent by the Staff and Organizational Development office. New staff members can find help with questions relating to life in Basel on the Welcome Center website.
