The Children’s University at the University of Basel was launched in 2004 and is one of the oldest in Europe. Every year, it offers around 1,000 children aged 8 to 12 the opportunity to attend five lectures held by professors from the University of Basel. The lectures last around 30 minutes and are in German. Since 2018, there has been a branch of the Children’s University in Liestal, and the lectures have also been filmed. Registrations for the Children’s University take place in mid-January on the German website of the Children’s University.
