The University of Basel supports innovation pilot projects as well as Proof of Concept (PoC) studies in order to bring technologies to market faster. For spin-offs, it arranges a network of contacts with venture capitalists.

Innovative project ideas that are not yet ready for a CTI project can receive a maximum of CHF 50,000 in funding. Two deadlines per year: 2017 leaflet.
Proof of Concept funding from the University of Basel
Project support for the translation of research findings into applications and the founding of spin-off companies. Max. CHF 30,000 (generally).

Research and development (R&D) projects of the CTI are an important instrument for research and development cooperation between industry and researchers from the University of Basel. The CTI also finances international R&D projects, e.g.
with South Korea.

EVA – the Basel life sciences start-up agency
EVA offers coaching, networking and venture capital for start-ups in the life sciences. EVA is supported by Basler Kantonalbank and Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank and has close links with the Inkubator and the BioValley Business Angels Club (BioBAC).
Fifteen-month acceleration program for start-ups in the life sciences and an initiative of BaselArea.swiss.
Philantropic three-stage funding model supporting Swiss start-ups. Start-ups can win up to 130,000 CHF.
W.A. De Vigier Prize
The oldest and highest-value funding award for young entrepreneurs from Switzerland. Up to five funding awards a year, each worth CHF 100,000 pro Jahr.
Swiss Technology Award
Prize for technologies and innovations from Swiss higher education institutions, awarded during the Swiss Economic Forum.
Venture is a Switzerland-wide competition for young entrepreneurs with a total annual prize money of CHF 120,000.
Each year, Zürcher Kantonalbank hands out a prize of just under CHF 100,000 to excellent start-ups.
