In der Schweiz lebt schätzungsweise jeder zehnte Mensch mit einer Behinderung oder chronischen Krankheit. Dieser Anteil wird auch unter Studierenden anzutreffen sein.

Die Inklusion von Studierenden und Forschenden mit Behinderungen oder chronischen Krankheiten ist der Universität Basel selbstverständlich: Sie sollen ohne Barrieren studieren bzw. forschen können. Entsprechende Vorgaben sind in verschiedenen Grundlagendokumenten der Universität festgehalten, zudem ist sie gesetzlich dazu verpflichtet.

Hier vermitteln wir Ihnen die Grundlagen, wie Sie digitale Unterrichtsmaterialien und -methoden einsetzen können, wenn in Ihrer Gruppe Studierende mit Behinderung sind.

The course History of Psychology gives an overview of the origins of psychology by mapping the development of different schools and approaches to understanding human mental life and behavior from the 19th century to the present day.

As we make sense of what we read, we construe meaning using the cultural technique of interpretation. Only rarely do we actually reflect this process: what are the means that help us understand literary texts? How does interpretation work? And how has our increasing use of electronic devices changed the way we read and interpret literature?

This online course is for people from all walks of life who enjoy reading literature and would like to know how literary scholars interpret texts in the digital age. The only requirement is that you like to read and love to reflect your experience and discuss it with others. Malaria has been the scourge of humanity for too long. Ever since scientists at the end of the 19th century discovered that the malaria parasite is transmitted by mosquitoes, controlling the ‘malaria mosquitoes’ has been the most effective tool against malaria. Yet as recently as 2020, there were still 241 million cases of malaria globally, and at least 627,000 deaths, the majority in sub-Saharan Africa.

Malaria mosquitoes are becoming resistant to the insecticides that have been so effective at controlling them. This course will look at why and how this is happening, its impact, and what can be practically done to address it. This helps us to remain ahead of the game in the fight against malaria.
